Incomparable. Westland/Tai Poutini National Park, New Zealand, South Island - 2/16/2012.
My Aunt Wendy gave me the name of this image before it even existed. She had given me sound advice because she had visited New Zealand before and awarded me the perfect name for what I was about to encounter on my own journey there...Incomparable! I hunted for an image that would hopefully live up to this name and I believe I found it on the last day of my journey. Much like the name was a gift from my Aunt, the location of the photo was a gift from a stranger. The woman in the camper van pulled up to me while I was admiring a view and setting up my camera. She rolled down the window and said simply, "Go to the left when you get to the glacier...everyone goes to the right to head up the main trail, but if you go to the left, you will find a small reflection pool that should be just perfect this morning." I remember telling her "Well, Thank You!" and smiling, and when I took her advice I found the image I had spent 12 days searching for.
